Contributor Day

WordCamp Contributor Days give you a special opportunity to share a room with other people who are contributing to WordPress. WordPress is now running more than 34% of the World Wide Web and it needs our help. We encourage you to take part in WordCamp Zurich’s Contributor Day: especially if you have never contributed before and you’re looking for a way to get started. There will be people at the conference and at Contributor Day who can help you get started.

Register for attendance

Attendance at Contributor Day is free, but attendance is not included in the conference ticket – you must apply for a separate ticket. We are using a smaller venue, which means that there will be a limited number of places available. You can apply for a ticket here.

When and where will Contributor Day be held?

WordCamp Zurich’s Contributor Day will take place on Friday 13th September 2019 at 9 a.m..  The location is around five minutes from Zurich’s main railway station when travelling by tram. We will end around 4 p.m.

What happens at Contributor Day?

If you’ve never contributed your time to WordPress before, Contributor Day is a great place to start. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone to help projects like:

  • Core – improve the main WordPress platform. Pascal (@swissspidy) – who is a core committer – can help you get you to get started with contributing to WordPress Core.
  • Design – Help design and develop the user interface for WordPress; a home for designers and UXers alike.
  • Theme Review – Join the team which is responsible for the high quality in the WordPress.org Themes Directory. Ulrich (@grapplerulrich) from the Key Reviewers team will be around to help with any questions.
  • Translations – make WordPress and its accompanying resources available in your language.
  • Community – improve the WordCamp and meetup organization processes. Help getting a meetup started in your area. We have meetups all over Switzerland: in Baden, Bern, Chur, Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne, Lucerne, Lugano, Monthey, Neuchâtel, Sion and Zürich.
  • WordPress.tv – reviews and approves every video submitted to WordPress.tv. They also help WordCamps with video post-production. We need help editing the videos of the talks so that we can upload them to WordPress.tv.
