Let's make tech more diverse 🌈

Tech products are used by people from all around the world and from all walks of life. Unfortunately, a lot of them are not included in the development of these products, and their perspectives become missed opportunities or even serious missteps.

When it comes to software development, we should help avoid this and change the odds for more people to take part in building apps that solve real-world problems. That's why React Day Berlin invites all women, LGBT+ folks, people of color, people with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged individuals interested in React to apply for a diversity scholarship, and come and join us at the conference for free. The rules are quite simple: 📋 fill out this simple form and see if you’re lucky enough to be picked in a random lottery.

The application deadline is August 17, 2018 11:59pm. In case you're selected, you'll be awarded 1 free ticket to the conference. Please note that accommodation, travel, and workshop participation are NOT included in the scholarship. The available tickets will be handed out by mid-September, and everyone will be notified about the results via email. Additional tickets will be given away by our diversity partners.

We’d also like to remind you that our Call for Presentations is still open, and we’ll be glad if you send us your proposal. It doesn’t matter if you’re a professional speaker or not — 🌠 rising stars have their place at React Day Berlin, too.

Last but not least, we know how important it is for everyone to feel safe and be able to participate in a friendly environment at the conference, and that's why we expect the attendees, speakers, and staff to treat each other with respect. Everyone present at React Day Berlin is expected to behave according to the Berlin Code of Conduct.
